MOLIO

MOLIO is an integrated app within FOLIO that enables users to register items in accession books, maintain deaccession books (withdrawal register), and prepare discarded items protocols. The application allows user access permissions to be configured for individual features and supports configurable lookup lists that significantly speed up the process of adding items. Users can define:

  •     Names and addresses of library locations (branches and departments)
  •     Accession books, including their assignment to branches and discarded items numbering settings
  •     Acquisition types, such as purchase, donation, and exchange
  •     Type of discarded items, such as lost or damaged items

MOLIO generates reports on the value of the library collection, as well as printouts of accession books and discarded items protocols.

The application links item records in FOLIO to unique accession numbers within an accession book assigned to a specific library location (branch or department). This allows the library to work with both numbers below the final retrospective accession number and current accession numbers. New accession numbers are assigned automatically, eliminating the risk of numbering errors. Each accession entry can also be assigned an acquisition type selected from a configurable lookup list.

The application also provides tools for withdrawing library materials and specifying discarded items types. New withdrawal numbers are assigned automatically, ensuring an uninterrupted and error-free numbering sequence. Libraries can create and print discarded items protocols containing records of the withdrawn items.
